How to Install Tor Browser on Ubuntu
There is two ways to install the Tor Browser in Ubuntu. You can use any of them.
- Download the Portable File from official website.
- Install Tor browser using CLI
Update your Ubuntu
First of all, we have to update our Ubuntu. So you have to run the following command in the terminal.
$ sudo apt update
We have to update the Ubuntu time to time. And update depends on your internet speed.
Install Tor browser on Ubuntu [GUI Mode]
Installing Tor Browser in Ubuntu and Debian-based distributions is as simple as installing the DEB file from its download page and double-clicking on it. Or you can install the DEB package using CLI mode.
Download Tor Web Browser
Now you can simply click on Download, and tar package will be downloaded. Save the file.
After downloading the file extract the downloaded tar file and use the Tor Browser.
$ tar -xf tor-browser-linux64-xx.x.x_en-US.tar.xz
Open Tor Browser
Now go to the extracted directory using the cd command. And then run the .desktop file using the following command to run the Tor browser.
